Welcome to 16 Ellicott Bar and Grill

Food and hospitality have been part of our story from the very beginning—it’s actually where we met. David had always dreamed of owning his own restaurant, and after a few years, a marriage, two kids, and plenty of life in between, we took our first leap into ownership with the Pour House Sports Bar of Lackawanna. It didn’t have a kitchen, but it gave us the opportunity to learn, grow, and build something of our own.

A few years later, we had the opportunity to purchase a place that had been part of David’s dream for a long time. He had been coming to this location since the days when it was known as Ellicott Manor, a beloved local spot in its heyday. When it became ours, we wanted to honor some of that history while giving the place a new life of its own. That’s part of why we chose the name 16 Ellicott Bar & Grill. Yes, it’s our address—but to us, the name is also a nod to the generations of people who have walked through these doors and the memories that were made here long before we arrived.

We knew the building needed some love (okay, a lot of love!), and we got to work. There have been countless renovations, long days, plenty of surprises, and there is still much more we want to do. But from the beginning, our vision has remained the same: we wanted 16 Ellicott to be more than just a bar. We wanted to create the kind of place people genuinely want to be—a comfortable neighborhood spot where you can stop in for wings on a weeknight, enjoy a great meal on date night, catch up with friends, or walk through the door by yourself and still feel like you belong.

David’s passion is in the back of the house, while mine is in the front of the house and with our staff. Together, we run every aspect of 16 Ellicott, but this has truly become a family affair. Our kids have grown up alongside the business. They greet our regulars by name, love getting the chance to help out, and our son genuinely seems to believe every customer who walks through the door is his new best friend. He already talks about the day he’ll get to buy the bar from us—and who knows, maybe someday he will.

And family here has grown to mean much more than the four of us. We’ve watched regulars become friends and friends become family. We’re incredibly fortunate to have a staff we love, including people who have been working at this very location for nearly 20 years. There’s something pretty special about that. This building has changed names and changed hands, but some of the people and relationships inside of it have stood the test of time.

On a personal level, one of the things I’m most proud of is getting to watch my husband’s dream come to life. I’m incredibly grateful that I’ve been able to be a part of building it alongside him. We’ve made sacrifices along the way, and I’ve watched David work his butt off to turn something he dreamed about for years into the place we get to walk into every day. I hope 16 Ellicott becomes everything he ever imagined it could be—and maybe even a little more.

More than anything, we believe community is about creating a place where people feel welcome and seen. We embrace the differences that make each of us who we are, and we want everyone who walks through our doors to know there’s a place for them here. Life can be heavy sometimes. If 16 Ellicott can be the place where you put that weight down for a little while, share a meal, laugh with friends, meet someone new, or simply feel a little less alone, then we’ve created what we set out to build.
